Tai Wo Tung

Based in Hong Kong, Tai Wo Tung is a long-established Chinese medicine brand that manufactures authentic quality Chinese medicines. There had been an emergence of counterfeits in the market. Tai Wo Tung did not have direct sales channel in mainland China, and due to its limitations in marketing, it was difficult for the brand to provide consumers with information on how to avoid buying counterfeits. To reach a wide Chinese audience, we opened the official accounts for Tai Wo Tung on WeChat and Sina Weibo. We created and managed the contents on the official accounts and invited key opinion leaders (KOL) and dahao (hugely followed accounts) to share articles related to the brand. By posting articles on mainland online forums and publishing press releases on media platforms, we raised brand awareness and educated consumers on how to avoid buying counterfeits. After three consecutive years of comprehensive marketing, Tai Wo Tung scored over 90 million impressions in the mainland. The KOL campaign on Sina Weibo carried out in the second half of 2017 recorded 1.5 million impressions. We have effectively promoted messages on how to avoid buying counterfeits through the brand’s official accounts on WeChat and Sina Weibo. Our continued partnership with Tai Wo Tung has enabled the official accounts to become a reliable and effective platform for the brand to interact with their customers.
